Job Title: Process Engineering Internship
Programme Overview: The Unilever Process Engineering Internship is designed to develop the company’s factories to World Class standards, aiming for zero defects, zero waste, and zero losses. As an intern, you will extensively apply a range of Focused and Quality Improvement methods and tools to counter losses identified in Safety, Quality, Cost Deployment, Customer Service, and Logistics.
Main Responsibilities:
- Complete all learnership requirements as stipulated by Unilever, including training attendance, assessments completion, project completion, logbook completion, and presentations as needed.
- Apply full range of Focused and Quality Improvement methods and tools.
- Populate the Cost Deployment pillar with data built through the application of the Managing Manufacturing Performance Code.
- Work directly with line crews daily, acting as the technical trainer for line teams.
- Provide coaching in phenomena identification, root cause analysis, and the establishment of countermeasures.
- Validate all process improvements and establish revised basic conditions on the line.
- Eliminate losses and wastes, increasing the stability of the line to support the transition of traditional line teams to semi-autonomous teams.
- Follow SOP procedures within the assigned operation.
- Conform to all site rules governing safety, quality, and the code of business principles.
Key Requirements:
- Completed degree or National Diploma in Chemical Engineering.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is essential.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English.
