About the BASF South Africa Trust Bursary 2025
The BASF bursary is designed to support Black (African, Coloured, and Indian) female students who are passionate about advancing their education in science and engineering. This initiative is part of BASF’s commitment to promoting gender and racial equity in STEM fields within South Africa.

Expenses Covered: The bursary is comprehensive and covers:
- Tuition fees
- Textbooks
- Accommodation
- A monthly stipend
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Must be female and identify as Black (in accordance with BBBEE codes).
- Must be pursuing studies in one of the specified fields at a recognized and accredited university or university of technology in South Africa.
- Must have completed the first year of study and be progressing into the second or a higher year in 2025.
- Must be financially needy and meet NSFAS funding criteria.
- Must have a strong academic record.
- Must not have a criminal record.
- Must not be receiving any other form of financial aid (excluding NSFAS).

- Certified copy of your matric certificate/results
- Certified copy of your full academic record (including 2024 results)
- Certified proof of parent/guardian income (latest payslips, audited financials, affidavit if unemployed, or proof of grant/pension)
- Curriculum Vitae (maximum 3 pages)
- An essay on the topic: “The current and future state of my field of study and how I plan to contribute to it.”
