As a Handyman at RAF, you’ll be responsible for executing low-risk scheduled, unscheduled, and ad hoc maintenance tasks. This role requires a proactive individual who can handle a variety of maintenance duties efficiently.
Key Performance Areas
Electrical Maintenance
- Perform basic electrical installations and repairs.
- Replace globes and plugs.
- Adjust and maintain air-conditioning systems, including temperature settings and cleaning filters.
Plumbing Maintenance
- Unblock drains and replace taps.
- Address and fix water leaks.
Building Maintenance
- Handle painting tasks and maintain cleanliness in the workshop.
- Manage tools, fix loose carpets, replace door locks, and repair blinds.
Carpentry Maintenance
- Repair and fix cabinet doors, locks, handles, tables, and chairs.
Administration
- Update maintenance reports and identify hazardous incidents.
- Coordinate with service providers to manage service level agreements (SLAs), including gardening services.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Matric qualification required. An N3 National Certificate in Engineering, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, or Carpentry is advantageous.
- Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a technical environment.
Technical and Behavioral Competencies
- Basic understanding of various trade disciplines.
- Ability to identify hazardous environments.
- Strong planning, organization, and coordination skills.
- Personal mastery and emotional wisdom in decision-making.
- Client service orientation and adherence to ethics and values.
Remuneration
The total cost to company for this position is a minimum of R282,523 per annum, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. RAF offers a Total Employment Cost package with no additional employer contributions, allowing successful candidates to structure their packages according to their needs.
