Rand Water is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our team as an Artisan Assistant (Automotive) in Johannesburg South, Gauteng. This permanent position offers the opportunity to work within our Bulk Water Services – Operations portfolio, specifically at our Central Depot / Bulk Distribution site.

As an Artisan Assistant (Automotive), you will play a crucial role in ensuring that Rand Water vehicles, plant, and equipment remain operational at all times. Your assistance to the Artisan will be vital in maintaining the mechanical systems and components of our automotive fleet.
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Education: Grade 12.
- Experience: 2 years of working experience in an automotive repair workshop, with the ability to perform minor services and repairs.
- Driver’s License: A Code C1 driver’s license is advantageous but not mandatory.
Primary Duties
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Assisting in repairing and maintaining mechanical systems and components on vehicles, plant, and equipment.
- Performing housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Adhering to SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) standards.
- Undertaking general duties as required.
Knowledge
While technical courses on workshop procedures are desirable, they are not an essential requirement. Basic relevant SHEQ knowledge is also beneficial.
Skills
