MISA’s Young Graduates Programme offers a structured, work-based internship development programme designed to help graduates achieve professional registration as Technicians, Technologists, and Engineers. The programme spans two to three years and aligns with regulatory and professional bodies’ frameworks, including the Act 36 of 2002, the Engineering Professions Act No 46 of 2000, and the Planning Profession Act, 36 of 2002 (PPA).

This programme is designed to help you build a robust professional portfolio and gain the experience needed to register with statutory professional bodies such as the South African Council for Planners (SACPLAN).

  • Eligibility: Open to graduates from Universities and Universities of Technology
  • Target Audience: MISA particularly encourages applications from historically disadvantaged individuals, females, people with disabilities, and MISA bursary beneficiaries

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Academic Requirements:
    • Civil Engineering: BTech Degree / BSc / BEng in Civil Engineering
    • Town & Regional Planning: BTech Degree / BSc in Town & Regional Planning
    • Electrical Engineering: BTech Degree / BSc / BEng in Electrical Engineering
    • Environmental Management: BTech Degree / B Environmental Management
    • Project Construction Management: BTech Degree / BSc Construction Management
  • Other Requirements:
    • Must be a South African citizen
    • Must be an unemployed graduate
    • Willingness to participate in a minimum 24-month workplace experience deployment within the nine provinces
