About the Internship Programme

WWF (the World Wide Fund for Nature) is a leading global environmental organization dedicated to building a future where people and nature thrive. The WWF South Africa internship programme aims to develop future environmental leaders through a year-long graduate placement, running from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026.

Interns will be placed within WWF South Africa’s Environmental Programme and with partner organizations. Under the guidance of a dedicated mentor, interns will engage in various projects, gaining valuable experience and working towards the shared vision of a sustainable world.

Requirements

To be eligible for the WWF South Africa Internship Programme, you should ideally have:

  • Completed a postgraduate degree in the natural, legal, engineering, arts, business, and/or social sciences.
  • First degree graduates may be considered in cases of exceptional academic achievement.
  • A demonstrated commitment to career development in the environmental sector.
  • A clearly articulated dedication to creating a better and sustainable world.
  • A record of exceptional academic and professional achievement.
  • Exceptional leadership potential.
  • Southern African citizenship.

How to Apply

Step 1: Prepare Your Documents

  • Download and complete the application form.
  • Attach a certified copy of your ID or passport.
  • Attach certified copies of your academic transcripts only (certificates are not required).
  • Prepare an abridged CV of no more than 2 pages.

Step 2: Review Placement Opportunities

  • Review the placement opportunities available within the programme.
  • In your application form, motivate for your three preferred placements.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

  • Merge all required documents into a single file, named using your name and surname.
  • Do not include any additional documentation other than what is specified.
