Bursary Program Details: Covered Sports
TuksSport is inviting students to apply for the University of Pretoria Sports Performance Support Bursary for 2025. This program helps enhance sporting talent while pursuing tertiary education, guided by TuksSport’s professional coaches.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be a full-time registered and accepted student at the University of Pretoria for 2025
- Excel in one of the listed sporting disciplines
Selection Process
Candidates will be selected based on:
- TuksSport club prioritization
- Athlete shortages in the club for events or positions
- Position on SA Junior and Senior rankings
- Position on international rankings
- Ability to qualify for international competitions
- Potential performances at USSA and participation in Varsity Sport SA and Varsity Cup competitions
Application Steps: How to Apply for TuksSport UP Sport Performance Bursary 2025
Step 1: Complete the TuksSport Bursary Application Form 2025. Choose your sport and fill out the online application form.
Step 2: Submit the following supporting documents:
- Full-length action shot photograph (A5 size in jpeg format)
- Grade 11 school results (if currently in Matric and entering your first year of study in 2025)
- Sports Curriculum Vitae (including Sporting Performance History, current training plans, and focus areas during training sessions)
- Other achievements (e.g., leadership, cultural, associations, etc.)
- Sports Performance Support Application (the completed online application will be emailed to you – this must be scanned/print generated)
Note: Applicants under 18 must have their application signed by a parent or legal guardian.
Step 3: Email your application and supporting documents to Mr. Byron Malga at [email protected]. Include “TuksSport Bursary Application” in the email subject line.
Bursary Renewal Information
The Sports Performance bursary is awarded for one sport code per academic year. Students must re-apply annually, with renewals based on academic and sporting performance, training attendance, and commitment to the program. All applicants will receive acknowledgment of their application shortly after submission. If not received within three weeks, contact your specific TuksSport club.
