Scholarship Coverage

The Learning Liberated Scholarship covers 80% of the tuition fee and the full SACAI Grade 12 Examination fee. This partial scholarship allows more students to benefit from the programme.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen residing in South Africa.
  • Have at least one parent or guardian who is a South African citizen.
  • Be entering Grade 8, 9, 10, or 11.
  • Be of the correct age for the grade they are entering.

  • Have proven financial need, with a family household income not exceeding R350,000 per annum or R29,000 per month.

  • Achieve a minimum average of 50% for Mathematics (for Grades 8 to 10 applicants) or 40% for Mathematics/Mathematics Literacy (for Grade 11 applicants).
  • Intend to pursue tertiary studies and a career after high school.
  • Have access to stable internet, a laptop or desktop, and a printer.
  • Have a safe learning environment with support from at least one adult champion/supervisor.

  • 1 October 2024 – 31 October 2024: Awarding and acceptance of the scholarship. Successful learners will receive a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to sign. Submission of the 2024 Term 4 Final Academic Report is required.
