Job Description
As an Apprentice Level 1 at Motus Hino Tshwane, you will report to the Manager: Service. This position is perfect for individuals with a knack for repairing commercial motor vehicles who are eager to undergo a structured Apprentice Training Programme aimed at developing Diesel Mechanic Technicians.
Specific Role Responsibilities
- Assist with vehicle repairs under the instructions of a Technician.
- Remove and replace parts/units from vehicles under technician supervision.
- Jack up vehicles and place trestles under technician supervision.
- Lubricate and change oils (under supervision) as per manual specifications.
- Remove and replace wheels under supervision.
- Remove and fit air and oil filters under supervision.
- Assist with all vehicle repairs.
- Remove and fit batteries under supervision.
- Clean parts and maintain housekeeping standards.
- Attend prescribed technical/level courses.
- Keep tools and equipment clean and in good order.
- Maintain clean overalls and a clean work area.
- Follow Safety Rules.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this apprenticeship, you must meet the following qualifications and experience criteria:
- Must have Grade 12 with Pure Mathematics and Physical Science.
- Preference will be given to candidates who have studied Mechanical Engineering.
- A valid Driver’s License (Code 14) will be an added advantage.
