This program is designed to equip you with valuable skills and experience in the fields of Animal and Plant Production, providing a solid foundation for your future career. Program Overview:

The DARD Learnership program is an excellent opportunity for unemployed youth to acquire practical skills in agriculture and rural development. Successful applicants will be enrolled in the program for a period of 12 months, during which they will receive a monthly stipend as per the guidelines of the Department of Public Service and Administration’s Directive on youth development programs.

Eligibility Requirements:

NQF Level 02/03:

  • South African citizenship
  • Residency in KwaZulu-Natal
  • Unemployed and between the ages of 18 – 35
  • AET Level 4/Standard 7/Grade 9/10
  • Completed and deemed competent in NQF1/2 in Animal/Plant Production

NQF Level 04:

  • South African citizenship
  • Residency in KwaZulu-Natal
  • Unemployed and between the ages of 18 – 35
  • Grade 12/Standard 10 with passes in English, Mathematics, and Natural Sciences
  • Completed and deemed competent in NQF 3 in Animal/Plant Production

  1. Obtain the Application Form:

  2. Complete the Form:
    Fill out the application form in your own handwriting. Ensure all fields are completed, and the form is signed and dated.
  3. Prepare Supporting Documents:
    • A certified copy of your Educational Qualifications
    • A certified copy of your Identity Document (ID)
    • An affidavit indicating your District/Local of residence
  4. Submit Your Application:
