About the Internship
Position Title: Financial Officer Intern

As a Financial Officer Intern at GPF, you will be an integral part of the Finance Team, assisting with various finance-related tasks. This internship offers hands-on experience, giving you the opportunity to learn and develop essential skills in areas such as Accounts Payable, Cashbook reconciliations, and general departmental administration.
Key Responsibilities
During the internship, you will be expected to contribute to the following key performance areas:
- Transaction Capturing: Assist in capturing transactions on the accounting system accurately and promptly.
- Cash Claim Management: Help ensure cash claim expenditure is accurately and timeously captured across the business.
- Payment Processing: Support the preparation and processing of payments onto the banking system.
- Bank Account Management: Assist in processing entries on the bank accounts and preparing bank reconciliations.
- Intranet Management: Upload bank statements for all bank accounts onto the Intranet.
- Petty Cash Management: Accurately and promptly capture petty cash expenditure, participate in outstanding claims investigations, and manage new applications of petty cash.
- Economic Development & BEE Reporting: Assist in preparing quarterly Economic Development (ED) reporting submissions and collating data, as well as preparing data and sample selection for BEE audits.
- Collaboration & Mentoring: Work closely with other team members, contribute to business unit meetings and brainstorming sessions, and participate in mentoring and coaching peers.
Additional Duties
- CEO and CFO Assignments: Complete assignments from the CEO and CFO as required.
- Team Support: Be proactive in assisting others and contributing to team efforts.
What You’ll Need
To qualify for this internship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Educational Qualifications: A National Diploma or Degree (NQF 6/7) in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience: No prior relevant working experience is required.
- Skills and Competencies:
