The Early Care Foundation (ECF) is excited to announce an opportunity for a Finance Administrator Intern based in Johannesburg. This 12-month internship is an excellent chance for young individuals to enhance their skills in the Early Childhood Development (ECD) sector while supporting the ECF Finance and HR Officer.
About the Position
The Finance Administrator Intern will play a key role in the ECF, providing essential support in finance and administration. This position is perfect for someone passionate about finance and looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Primary Criteria for Application
To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Grade 12 pass
- Clear criminal record
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and general computer literacy
- Good command of Excel
- An African, Indian, or Coloured South African Citizen by birth
- Between the ages of 18 – 35 years old
- Currently unemployed
- Must not have participated in a YES Initiative programme in the past
Additional Criteria
Candidates with the following qualities and experiences will have an advantage:
- An interest in and passion for finance and administration
- Previous experience in finance
- Familiarity with accounting software
- Ability to develop skills within a team setting and work independently
- Strong administrative skills
- Enthusiastic and encouraging attitude
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Finance Administrator Intern will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Allocating bank entries on the cashbook
- Compiling and filing cashbook supporting documents
- Assisting with donor reporting, including the allocation of budget vs. actual
- Providing general office support
