Early Life and Education

Faith Nonhlanhla Mazibuko was born on April 2, 1965, in Charteston, Nigel, in South Africa’s former Transvaal Province. She attended various schools, including Jabavu East Community School and St Matthews Roman Catholic School, before matriculating from Sekano-Ntoane Senior Secondary School. Mazibuko pursued higher education at the University of South Africa, majoring in Education, English, and History. She furthered her studies with leadership courses at the Graduate School of Public Management, Wits University, Rhodes University, and the Thabo Mbeki African Leadership Institute (TMALI), among others.


Political Career

Mazibuko’s political career began in the ANC Youth League, where she was actively involved in various youth organizations. She became a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature in 1996 and served until 2004 before joining the National Council of Provinces. Upon returning to the provincial legislature in 2009, she held several key positions, including MEC for Infrastructure Development, MEC for Community Safety, and MEC for Social Development. Her tenure has been marked by significant contributions to social development and community safety.
