Requirements:

  • Matric certificate (Grade 12) and an LLB degree or a 4-year legal qualification.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Shortlisted candidates must pass a typing proficiency test and a practical exercise.
  • Skills needed: Excellent communication, organizational skills, attention to detail, computer literacy (MS Word), and typing skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Judge’s Secretary, you will:

  • Answer and screen telephone calls.
  • Manage the Judge’s appointments and meetings.
  • Type and organize judgments and other legal documents.
  • Assist in court proceedings and manage case files.
  • Ensure proper filing, ordering of stationery, and administrative duties.
  • Manage travel and accommodation arrangements for the Judge.
  • Maintain the court roll and update the Judge’s records and statistics.
  • Handle exhibits and ensure accurate records in court.
