About the Imerys Boilermaker Learnership
The Imerys Boilermaker Learnership is a 36-month program that offers experiential learning alongside theoretical training at the Colliery Training College, an accredited institution by the Mining Qualifications Authority (MQA). As a learner, you will have the chance to attend college classes and receive hands-on practical training at the mine and plant.
What Will You Learn?
During the learnership, successful candidates will:
- Understand Health and Safety: You will be expected to follow all company health and safety policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Housekeeping Skills: Good housekeeping practices will be emphasized, helping you maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs): You will learn to adhere to task-related SOPs and checklists, ensuring that you complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Documentation Skills: You will assist your line manager with various tasks and compile daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.
Requirements to Apply
To be eligible for the Imerys Boilermaker Learnership, you must meet the following criteria:
- Age: You should be between 18 and 35 years old and part of the community youth group.
- Education: A minimum requirement of Grade 12/Matric and Boilermaker N3 qualification is necessary.
- Health: You must be medically fit according to the Mine Health Safety Act.
- Induction: Successful completion of the Mine Health and Safety Induction is required.
- Motivation: Self-motivation and a strong desire to learn and succeed are essential.
