Are you a student looking to become a Chartered Accountant? The Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) is offering bursaries for students pursuing degrees in the Chartered Accountancy (CA) stream.   • BCom Accounting (CA stream)
  • Bachelor of Accounting (CA stream)
  • BCompt

Bursary Benefits:

Upon completing your degree, you’ll be required to either serve articles or participate in training with AGSA, giving you hands-on experience in the field of Chartered Accountancy.

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a South African citizen
  • Matric students (applying for 1st year in 2025):
    • Minimum 60% in Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy)
    • Minimum 60% in English
    • Matric exemption with university entrance
    • Intend to study one of the listed CA qualifications
  • 1st year students (applying for 2nd year in 2025):
    • Minimum 60% in Financial Accounting
    • Intend to enter 2nd year of study in 2025
  • 2nd year students (applying for 3rd year in 2025):
    • Minimum 60% in Financial Accounting and Management Accounting
    • Intend to enter 3rd year of study in 2025
  • Final year students (applying for postgraduate studies in 2025):
    • Minimum 55% in all core modules
    • Accepted into the CTA programme

Additional requirements include fluency in English, strong communication and leadership skills, and a commitment to success.
