eThekwini Municipality EPWP Opportunities: Apply for Jobs in 2024-2025

The eThekwini Municipality, in partnership with the Department of Public Works, is excited to invite applications from prospective candidates residing within the jurisdiction of eThekwini Municipality. These positions are part of the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) aimed at alleviating poverty and providing work opportunities to those in need. The program will run for a duration of 7 months, from 10 December 2024 to 30 June 2025.

Here are the available positions, their stipends, and requirements:

1. Participant: General Worker

  • Stipend: R193.42 per day
  • Requirements: Minimum Grade 10 qualification

2. Participant: Supervisor

  • Stipend: R383.14 per day
  • Requirements: Minimum Grade 12 qualification

3. Participant: Data Captures

  • Stipend: R644.09 per day
  • Requirements: Minimum Grade 12 qualification, Computer Literacy, and Valid motor vehicle driving license

4. Participant: Administrators

  • Stipend: R773.51 per day
  • Requirements: Certificate in administration or related qualification, Computer Literacy, Valid motor vehicle driving license, and 2 years of relevant experience

5. Participant: Coordinator

  • Stipend: R1,033.81 per day
  • Requirements: Diploma/Degree in administration or related qualification, Computer Literacy, Valid motor vehicle driving license, and 3 years of relevant experience

Key Application Requirements

  • All applicants must reside within the jurisdiction of eThekwini Municipality.
  • Applicants must not be in employment, receiving an old age grant, or receiving a ward committee stipend.
  • Valid South African identity document, a TAX number, and a motivational/recommendation letter from the ward councillor/ward committee structures are mandatory for eligibility.
  • Participants previously part of the programme will not be considered.
