The Overberg District Municipality is excited to announce new job opportunities through the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) in the Directorate of Community Services, Department of Municipal Health Services. This programme aims to alleviate poverty by offering temporary work to the unemployed, particularly focusing on providing opportunities for unskilled individuals.

Job Details

  • Contract Period: 01 August 2024 – 30 November 2024
  • Location: Various locations within the Overberg District Municipality
    • Hermanus: 4 positions
    • Bredasdorp: 2 positions
    • Napier: 1 position
    • Caledon: 4 positions
    • Swellendam: 2 positions

Responsibilities and Duties

Selected candidates will be involved in an Information Data Collection Survey for Municipal Health Services, which includes:

  • Surveying food safety premises
  • Surveillance of various premises
  • Monitoring disposal facilities for the deceased across different wards

Requirements

To qualify for these positions, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Unemployment: Open to unemployed and unskilled men and women, including youth (18 years and older).
  • Education: Grade 12.
  • Skills: Computer literacy (Microsoft Office applications).
  • Inclusivity: Persons living with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
  • Documentation: Certified ID documents and proof of bank details.
  • Physical Health: Good physical health is required.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and write in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Remuneration

  • Daily Wage: R150.00 per day.
