A 30-year-old suspected drug dealer has been arrested in Kwadwesi, Nelson Mandela Bay, during a targeted crime prevention operation led by the SAPS Kwadwesi Crime Prevention Unit, with support from Operation Bamba.
Drugs and Cash Seized in Mthonga Street Raid
Acting on actionable intelligence, police conducted a search of a residence on Mthonga Street, Zinyoka, where they uncovered a substantial stash of narcotics and cash suspected to be drug proceeds.
The following items were seized from the property:
- 86 Mandrax tablets
- 22 medium bags of Cat (methcathinone)
- 11 small bags of Cat
- 6 large black bags of dagga
- 12 small bags of dagga ‘bompies’
- 39 dagga ‘zolls’
- R1,760 in cash
The arrest marks a significant win for local law enforcement in the ongoing fight against drug trafficking in Nelson Mandela Bay.
Suspect to Appear in Court
The suspect is currently in police custody and faces charges of drug dealing. He is expected to appear before the New Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 7 May 2025.
“This arrest is the result of coordinated intelligence-led policing and underscores our commitment to making communities safer,” said SAPS in a statement.
